Product variants
Offer different editions, durations, or packages without duplicating your product page.
Offer different editions, durations, or packages without duplicating your product page. Follow the steps below in the selected store’s dashboard.
Set it up#
Open the product
Go to Core → Products and open the product editor.
Add meaningful variants
Create a variant for each option customers can actually choose. Give each one a clear name and the correct price.
Configure stock and delivery
Review the stock and delivery settings used by each variant. A visible option must have a valid fulfillment path.
Try the choices
Open the public product page and check that changing the variant changes the selected option and price as expected.
Stable identifiers for integrations#
Use the product and variant IDs in API integrations. Names can change; an ID is a safer reference for automation. The Checkout API accepts variant_id with a product_ids item.
Payment restrictions#
Product and variant restrictions can reduce the payment methods shown at checkout. Test the exact variant you intend to sell, especially if the store has several methods enabled.
If something does not work#
What to check
If a variant cannot be purchased, check its stock, saved price, enabled state, and payment restrictions. Test the same variant through the storefront before debugging an external integration.
