Connect Lemon Squeezy

Sell through Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record, so it handles tax and chargebacks.

Set it up#

Create an API key

In Lemon Squeezy, open Settings → API and create an API key.

Copy your store ID

Open Settings → Stores and copy the number next to your store. The store currency must match your OpenStock store currency.

Create one product for OpenStock

Create a single product, for example “Order”, with any price. Each checkout replaces its name and price, so you only need one. Copy its variant ID.

Add the webhook

Open Settings → Webhooks, add the webhook URL from the Connect dialog, choose a signing secret and tick order_created and order_refunded.

Connect in the dashboard

Open Payments → Payment setup → Lemon Squeezy, paste the API key, store ID, variant ID and signing secret, and select Connect. Choose Sandbox to create test-mode checkouts.

Why the webhook is required#

Lemon Squeezy can’t look up an order by our order number, so the signed order_created webhook links its order to yours. Without it, orders stay pending.

If something does not work#

What to check

If checkout fails with a currency error, set your Lemon Squeezy store currency to your OpenStock store currency. If orders stay pending, check the webhook’s signing secret and that order_created is ticked.

Still stuck? Contact support with the store, affected page, and relevant order or request reference.

Next steps#
