Take cards, wallets, crypto and pay later on Whop’s hosted checkout.
Set it up#
Create an API key
In Whop, open Dashboard → Developer and create an Account API key. Give it the checkout_configuration:create and payment:basic:read permissions.
Copy your account ID
Open Dashboard → Settings and copy the account ID that starts with biz_. To file every checkout under one product, also copy that product’s prod_ ID.
Add the webhook
Optional but faster: in Dashboard → Developer, create a webhook with the URL from the Connect dialog and the payment events, then copy its ws_ secret.
Connect in the dashboard
Open Payments → Payment setup → Whop, paste the API key, account ID and webhook secret, and select Connect. Choose Sandbox with keys from sandbox.whop.com to test with card 4242 4242 4242 4242.
How orders confirm#
Each order opens a one-time Whop checkout at the order total, in your store currency. OpenStock confirms the order from Whop’s record of the payment, so it confirms even without the webhook; the webhook only makes it instant.
An order counts as paid only when Whop reports the payment as paid, for this order, for at least the order total. Refunded payments never confirm an order.
If something does not work#
What to check
If checkout fails, check the API key’s permissions and that it belongs to the account ID you entered. Whop needs approval for checkouts over $2,500. If orders stay pending, check that the key can read payments.
